New Macs based on the M3 processor
On October 31st, Apple presented two Mac models based on the new M3 processor: the iMac and the MacBook Pro.
The M3 chip is one of the most powerful designed for a personal computer, while keeping power consumption under control - a guarantee of long autonomy for notebooks. Three versions are available: M3, M3 Pro and M3 Max (in ascending order of power).
The iMac is the perfect workstation for Office Maker. Its high-quality 24" screen makes it a pleasure to work on, and you can add an external monitor if required to extend the display area. The entry-level model is more than sufficient to run our software. Versions with extra cores, RAM or disk space are only necessary if you're doing graphics or video work.
The MacBook Pro is a high-end laptop whose specifications exceed the needs of Office Maker. In general, a "simple" MacBook Air currently equipped with an M2 chip is more than adequate, and its lower purchase price makes it more affordable.
It's very likely that other Macs based on the M3 processor will appear in 2024. But if you need a new computer soon, the performance of the new models will certainly satisfy you.
